The SOFH will host a Fun Day on August 29th at the Huntsville Executive airport to thank the Young Marines for all their support during the May 30th Fly-in.

We will be serving lunch and offering them flights in SOFH and members' aircraft.

UPDATE: SOFH Fun Day was an outstanding success

We hosted about 35 Young Marines, their adult leaders and parents. We were able to fly 42 passenger missions in our six aircraft because several attendees liked it so much they flew twice. The weather closed in and threatened flight safety, so we cut off the flights at about 12:30.

We served everyone lunch. Could these young folks eat! Maybe flying gave them a good appetite. We ate 75 hamburgers, 60 hot dogs, 10 pounds of potato salad, three #10 cans of beans and five cases of water.

Several Young Marines remarked that they had a great time. For several it was their first flight. I know that all the SOFH members there had a wonderful time.
