The SOFH will host our Aviation Heritage Fly-In on June 4, 2016 at the Meridianville Airport.

In addition to static displays of a UH-1, L-19 and U3B, there will be several other military aircraft on display as well as amateur built aircraft and commercial general aviation aircraft. The event will be open to the public at no charge and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

BG Robert Stewart (Ret.), the first U.S. Army Astronaut, will be on site and signing autographs from 11-1.

The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation-Wiregrass Chapter will have its UH-1 Huey and AH-1 Cobra available for rides ($70 for the Huey and $310 for the Cobra). The Young Eagles will also be giving youth ages 8-17 their first airplane ride for FREE!

Other organizations participating are the North Alabama Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association (NAVHPA), Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans Memorial Museum, Friends of Army Aviation-Ozark (FAA-O), Madison County Executive Airport Authority, and Executive Flight Center along with other local organizations and companies.

Food vendors will be available on the airport grounds and parking will be free with a shuttle bus to and from the display and rides area.
